This school is conveniently located in the eastern half of Philadelphia.Being in Chester, one can take computer science for their first and/or second year if they have taken computer science in high school. The computer science program allows students to get hands on experience and to learn about computer programming from the very beginning.Computer science can be studied through courses in computers and electronics, technology, business information systems, network design, programming, and security. Computer technology is an important part of the new information age. Just as telecommunications used to be quite difficult, computer technology can be similar to telecommunication.After they are completed with introductory courses, students can advance through various subjects such as social sciences, humanit ies, and the sciences. In addition, they can choose courses from the College of Liberal Arts (CLAS). This organization was created to help other schools and colleges to find ways to help teachers who are teaching computer science to make it easier for them to teach it in high school. Students in the Computer Science Teacher Alliance have made it possible for instructors to access resources they may need from the web.Chester also offers online educational software for teachers who want to go beyond the classroom and into the world of online learning. There are courses available that focus on diverse concepts of interactive learning such as digital media, and multimedia communication, as well as content-rich, real-time training for computer technology.As computers become more sophisticated, students will be able to use a personal computer to conduct business, and communicate with people all over the world. Chester has an excellent computer science program, and the College of Liberal Arts has courses in computer technology and online education to give teachers practical help.
